![]() Elf tokens? Exile them as you go since they never come back. Winota a problem for you, flicker it out until after combat is over. Also know that Slide triggers off of anyone’s cycle. Neither require you to target your own stuff. ] and ] are the two best cards in this deck and will be absolutely obnoxious to your opponents if you use them right. So things like ] ] ] ].Īlso, you didn’t highlight these, so I’ll assume that they haven’t played a huge part. One of the best parts about Gavi is that you can hold up reaction mana and still get to cycle. All of those numbers are low considering that you’re unlikely to be the aggressor playing Gavi. That makes sense: most of your creatures don’t protect you, you have 3 board wipes (and only 2 unconditional ones), and only 3 ways to permanently deal with a creature once it hits the battlefield. It sounds like you’re having trouble keeping up with aggro decks. That’s less than half of what you probably should have in this mana-hungry deck. ![]() Unless I’m missing something, you’ve only got 4 ramp pieces: ] ] ] and ]. It's about fun after all not competition. I want to point out that again that we are trying to keep it very casual. Here is my current deck I played recently : I hope that you guys can provide me some helpful tips. Rule of thumb :-) Then again, not sure if I am playing the deck correctly and what is my game plan in different scenarios. I feel like maybe I am playing too many land cards idk, but when I cut some I am always mana screwed. Therefore most of the times I feel pretty much useless and helpless. When it comes to an alliance or pacts, my friends don't want to team up with me as I have nothing to offer so I am on my own. Guy just dropped bomb after bomb every turn and I could not keep up with answers or find any flyers to block. The game after I died to a basic Tiamat Dragon precon deck. Next game I died to an army of Elf tokens with a Craterhoof drop on top. First game I died on the 5th of turn to a Winota aggro deck before on the turn I played Gavi for the 1st time. I am looking for consistency and deck optimization.įor example, the last games I played looked like this. However from all the games I played and there were many, this happened maybe twice or three times only. Once the deck really keeps going, it shines and it is a joy to play and I absolutely love it. Or many instances where I just don't have anything to cycle and find the cards I need ( dead hand with no cycling cards or draw engine ). There are many many games, where I just don't have anything to play and defend myself until I am at least half way down with my life pool which is game over at that point. However even with some upgrades, I always feel like I am the weakest player at the table even against basic pre-con decks and that no matter what my opponents play, everything is a threat I should worry about. Nothing competitive, we just want to have fun.įrom all the decks I own and played, Timeless Wisdom is the only one I really always keep coming back to as I enjoy the mechanics very much. We are very casual and we bought many precons, but later on we started to upgrade our decks slightly. ![]() ![]() ![]() But due to lack of time, this is only once in a few week. It's been more than a year since we discovered the Commander format with my friends and since then we can't get enough and every time we have the opportunity to meet and play, we do. ![]()
